Ken Ruland

SVP Business Development Officer

Ken Ruland is a Senior Vice President / Business Development Officer in City National Bank’s Metro New York Offices and supports Business Banking, Middle Market/ Commercial Banking and Private Banking groups. He serves companies across Long Island and New York City with revenues ranging from $10 million to $300 million.

Ken began his banking career at Citibank in business banking and was accepted into the Loan Officer Management Credit Training Program. He went on to spend 10 years with Citibank where he delivered tailored financial solutions to clients in the Manufacturing & Distribution, Professional Services, Distribution and Healthcare industries.

In 2014, Ken shifted to a more broadened industry focus on Long Island, holding senior banker and Team Leader roles at Suffolk County National Bank, Peoples United Bank, and First National Long Island/ Connect One Bank. He joined City National Bank in September 2025, bringing more than 25 years of relationship-driven commercial banking experience across multiple banks.

Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and formerly held FINRA Series 6 and 63, 24, 26 and Life and Health licenses.

Outside of work, Ken is married to his wife Jen for 24 years and a father of three children: Kyle, Dylan, and Addison. Ken is on the Long Island Board of Trustees for Blood Cancer United aka (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) and is active in local community activities bringing awareness to the organization. Ken is an avid fan of the NY Mets and San Francisco 49ers. He enjoys the beach, playing golf, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
